THE Cultural Center POLId'ARTE has opened in Spoleto in 1995 thanks to the initiative of Annamaria Polidori painter and sculptor. The Exhibition space has been structured using the two entries (Via Duomo 27 and Piazza Signoria 5) of an old medieval warehouse located in the same building of the Caio Melisso Theater and the Museo Civico. The cultural center has been restructured to accomodate the features and facilities of a modern art gallery, trying to highlight the beauty of the brick wall architecture, the view over the Spoleto country, and the atmosphere of such a valuable cultural and historical complex. The owner Annamaria Polidori is an artist devoted to research and to using new and avant-garde materials. From her first exhibition she has always kept a line that shows a strong sign of research and innovation in creative artistic works. Besides she likes to host lots of different artists from all over the world: Americans, Finns, Poles and Australians have been hosted in the center and have proposed works with a big emotional impact for the originality and creativity of their expressions. In 2007 Polid'arte has closed the exhibitions with great success, with a large number of visitors and appreciation by a highly qualified public. Furthermore the center has had the honour to host a very famous artist, Edward Evans : Edward Evans is an American painter which is considered to be a leading figure in the United States in his field. His works are already present in museums and private collections around the world such as the group of Lockhart River Aboriginal Australian of Queensland State. The exhibitions calendar of next year is equally rich both in Italian and foreign expressions of level. Cultural meetings from other disciplines are often hosted during the various exhibitions of the Cultural Center. The mixture of music, philosophy, poetry, presentation of books and whatever favors the rich exchange between personalities and cultures, makes the space POLId'ARTE (we can call "polincontri") a true cultural center aimed at promoting the knowledge of the artist exhibited at that moment in order to obtain a higher appreciation for his creations from the cultural people of the City. All this fits in the splendid setting of the Spoleto Summer Season that in 2008 will be particularly rich. The new management of Spoleto Festival and the new artistic director Giorgio Ferrara, promise a great revival with a billboard much nourished and extended. The Festival will go on in the following months and the Program will be extended for the entire summer season and autumn and will last till Christmas time until the Festival Experimental of Lyric Opera will close the season.
